Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025 Gaming Honors
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and with a remarkable show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. The surprise role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Top Visual Design.
Enhancing the studio's triumph, the skilled performers also received individual awards. Jennifer English was named Outstanding Lead Performance for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Best Development Team. Overall, Clair Obscur and its creative team collected seven awards during the show.
Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Outstanding Audio and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. It is important to note, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only 4 special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by reviewers.
