Heavy precipitation over the last seven days have compounded the already dire situation of the vast number of evacuated residents in the territory, according to humanitarian groups.

"Terrible" Conditions Brings Grave Dangers

A spokesman described the weather overnight as "terrible", with precipitation so severe that up to 15cm (6in) of water was seen on the ground.

"The recent weather was exceptionally horrendous for the people. The heavy rains were so powerful... And the winds were so strong," noted the official.

Authorities voice significant concern that minors residing in makeshift shelters in soaked garments will contract hypothermia and additional sicknesses.

Casualties and Extensive Loss

Health authorities have reported that one baby has died from exposure and no fewer than 11 other people have been killed in building collapses triggered by the severe weather.

Additional accounts put a increased fatality count. Officials reported that several structures had collapsed completely and many others had sustained partial collapse.

  • Almost 55,000 families harmed by rains.
  • More than 40 emergency refuges submerged.
  • Countless residents required to find new shelter.

Aid Operations Considered Insufficient

Groups have increased deliveries of tents, bedding and garments since the halt in hostilities began, but they stress there is continues to be not enough aid getting in.

"Agencies are working relentlessly to deliver that relief and to distribute it, but the scale of the needs is so vast that we continue to see thousands of individuals and children who are truly struggling nightly," stated one spokesperson.

Future Concerns and Ceasefire Provisions

The subsequent part of the agreement includes plans for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with future administration, the removal of personnel, and other terms.

Relief bodies have underscored the need for "expanded and ongoing aid to meet pressing and future requirements."

The conflict was sparked by an attack in the autumn of 2023. Following military operations have led to a significant number of casualties in the territory, based on official reports.
