Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
An aircraft carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which stated that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed based on standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, such as Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," an official representative commented in a online announcement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the Belgian capital at the time.
This event isn't the first time that a American defense plane transporting a high-ranking official has experienced technical problems.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to turn back to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical fault.
