Liverpool's Star Extends Regret to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the group of players after the controversy from his public comments.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his connection to the head coach had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has refused to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Team Unity
Jones insisted that the team's response remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Their results have remained strong in the matches since the situation. The player is convinced the outburst were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, performing and on a positive run.”
