Star Denies Anti-Vaxxer Stance Following Narrating Contentious Coronavirus Documentary
Liam Neeson has lent his narration to a new documentary that challenges the legitimacy of immunizations and praises one-time cabinet secretary the political figure.
The Film's Contentious Basis
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a popular book co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for claims that the illness was linked to a bad strain of the seasonal immunization.
The book's writing partner, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone figure a known commentator. He took to social media praising Neeson's involvement in the documentary.
An Unequivocal Denial
Representatives for Neeson have released a comment pushing back against claims that he supports anti-immunization sentiments.
"Everyone can recognize that corruption can exist within the drug industry, but that cannot be confused with rejection of vaccines," the comment reads. "He has never been, and is not, anti-vaccination. His long work with Unicef underscores his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."
It noted that the performer had no hand in the documentary's editorial content and that questions about its content should be directed to the creators.
Key Assertions Featured in the Feature
As presented, the voiceover provided by Neeson includes several provocative points:
- It states that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
- It declares that "science has become deeply politicised."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is interviewed stating, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
- It also criticizes Covid lockdowns, saying they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Regarding pandemic shots, it cites a perspective that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Historical Controversy and Current Debates
The film also references a historical film about HIV drug testing on children, which was subsequently the topic of a correction by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.
Last month, the political figure directed the Centers for Disease Control to revise its official position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is echoed in the documentary, even with a recent study from the World Health Organisation confirming no such link has been found.
An Earlier Position of Advocacy
Contrasting the film's message, Neeson has formerly shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.
Previously, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," adding that "The conversation about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in our history."
The documentary finishes with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This is not the finish of our story. Rather, it is the beginning of a different phase."
