The Blue Jays Secure Fall Classic Matchup Against defending champion Dodgers
Springer previously helped the Astros winning the championship in 2017.
Canada's MLB team reached their maiden championship series after 1993 by beating the Seattle Mariners in the decisive Game 7 of the ALCS.
Down three runs to one, the star outfielder hit a three-run homer in the seventh frame, guiding the Toronto squad in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 series triumph in the best-of-seven series. Awaiting them are the Dodgers, who are the current crown, in the upcoming Fall Classic.
"I'm just so happy for our team, Toronto, Canada," said Springer, a star of the Houston Astros team that won the 2017 World Series. "What an amazing experience."
Springer has now connected for twenty-three October home runs, ranking him third all-time trailing only Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Altuve (twenty-seven).
"I can't think of another player anywhere that I'd choose in that moment except for him with his October magic," noted Schneider.
The Mariners, who had led the early in the series, are still the one club never to appear in a Fall Classic.
Manager Dan Wilson said "certainly that it's going to sting" following his team's loss at Rogers Centre, but commended their work throughout the year.
"They're an exceptional squad. Sadly that we finished on the losing end of this one," he remarked.
Toronto won the World Series on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and '93, and are set to host the Dodgers in the first game on the upcoming Friday.
