The Lionesses v China – Women's Friendly International

Overview

Hello and welcome to the exhibition fixture between England and China at the iconic Wembley. An exciting encounter is anticipated with the current Euro titleholders competing against the current Asian Cup champions.

England’s national stadium is sold-out for the match, which will see Fran Kirby honored pre-match after her departure from the England squad before the Euros this past summer.

Lineup details will be revealed soon, but there was a last minute squad update for England. On Friday, the goalkeeper Khiara Keating withdrew from the squad with a slight knock, and so former number one Ellie Roebuck has been called up.

With Hannah Hampton unavailable, it will be notable to find out who England manager Sarina Wiegman selects in goal. Those details along with further updates are on the way before the opening whistle at 17:30 GMT.

Squad Updates

The lineups have been announced. Anna Moorhouse is the starting keeper for England in the non-presence of Hannah Hampton and Khiara Keating.

England's starting eleven: Moorhouse, Bronze, Charles, Walsh, Le Tissier, Morgan, Mead, Stanway, Russo, Toone, Hemp.

Reserves: Hings, Baggaley, Kendall, Wubben-Moy, Beever-Jones, Kelly, Kearns, Park, Blindkilde Brown, Roebuck, Clinton, Denton, Fisk, Godfrey.

We are awaiting the Chinese lineup now; once it is available, I will post it.

Maunch Appearance

The upcoming fixture will be Anna Moorhouse's debut for England. She belonged to the Euro-winning side who claimed victory this past summer, but she did not play any minutes with Hannah Hampton in the first-choice keeper position.
